GreedyGammon has been in extended "hibernation"

Now it is time to roll up the sleeves and get to work again woo hooo

about time right? :D

Yes, player vs player is coming back and it will be peer to peer so will be no "server down". You will be able to play with your friends once again even better than before.

Re: New GreedyGammon development coming soon

Ok, so version 2.0.15 is uploaded. It should fix the "stuck on 1400 bug and incorporates some other small changes made since last release.
This upload is not digitally signed so it will show as "unknown publisher". The fees for a digital certificate are $140 for 2 years.
I can't afford it. If you have a AV installed on your machine and you don't download from questionable sources, you should be just fine.

Some improvements to come in future version will be a cleaner scaling interface. And possibly a feature for peer to peer play.

Here is a sneak peek of what the new 3.x version will look like. Notice the nice checkers, they are png with transparency, something that was lacking in old versions of vb6 but some ninja vb6 hacker (yes there are some) created png support for vb6 (thanks LaVolpe, whoever u are) so now we can show round checkers much easier and with good quality image. The board is slightly larger, this is on 1440 screen, and as soon as get new monitor 1920*1080 delivered, will be a full size screen for that resolution as well.

To those interested in the online mode, you will want to research (if u don't already know how) to do "port forwarding on your internet connection. This is what will allow you to play remotely with your friends.

Here is a page that covers different routers and how to open ports on them. (Just click close on any ad the page opens. You don't have to buy anything.

https://portforward.com/router.htm

It is easy. Just open your router settings page, go to port settings and open port 3333 (or you can pick your own if u like. Most high speed internet connections keep the same IP. Only one party needs to setup this setting. The other player connecting only needs a connection string generated by the player who has set up the port setting.
