Hi from the author of GreedyGammon,
GreedyGammon started out as a FIBS (fibs.com) client (3dfibs) and got renamed to "fibzilla" and from there it split off from the FIBS world and turned into GreedyGammon which is no longer a FIBS client. For a quick clarification, FIBS (fibs.com, is/was a service that allowed users to write their own client by making the interface to clients, transparent. It is a somewhat unusual setup which led users to believe that the clients were part of the server. So anyway.. GreedyGammon is now offering users the chance to play either the offline bot or with their friends on a private (peer to peer) connection meaning that there is no server involved. You can setup the remote play feature and once you got it working, you will never have to deal with "server down" issues. That capability will always be available to you as long as the software is installed on your machine.
